Rockvault

A new mineral archive

Rockvault was a project carried out as part of the show/store graduation office at Newcastle University. The task in brief was to choose a compendium and create an exhibition space to house it. The point was to avoid the obvious and open up the collection to new audiences in different and liberating ways. I set about creating space derived from the literal object.

Location: Castle Garth, Newcastle upon Tyne
Programme: 3,000 m2 mineral gallery and archive including exhibition, offices, educational areas, shop and support spaces. Incubator of 150 m2 with scaled exhibition.
